Line Mechanic / Distribution Line Mechanic Horizon Energy Group - Napier City, North Island Based in the following locations: Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu-Whanganui, Taranaki, Waikato, and Wellington $ 37-47/h (depending on experience) Horizon Services Limited is a nationally recognised electricity infrastructure services company. These include the design and maintenance of underground and overhead electricity infrastructure, streetlighting, capital works and maintenance, asset management, and future energy and sustainability solutions. Due to continued growth across New Zealand, we're looking for experienced Line Mechanics/Distribution Lines to join our teams in multiple locations nationwide, including Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, and Canterbury. Employees may be required to work across different regions of New Zealand depending on project and operational needs. About the Role: Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground distribution systems Attend to breakdowns and emergencies Maintain poles and associated hardware, maintain continuity of electrical supply Assist the streetlighting team with projects and maintenance Work as part of a team to compete projects safely, and in a timely and cost-efficient manner About You: 3 years' experience as a Line Mechanic/Distribution Line Mechanic or similar EWRB license/registration Strong lines construction skills with a focus on safety Familiarity with distribution systems and associated procedures up to and including 33kV Experience in vegetation management and tree compliance within regulated environments, with willingness to obtain and apply New Zealand-specific regulatory knowledge Ability to read and understand plans and maps Comfortable working at heights Heavy vehicle licence (preferred) Cable jointing and/or switching experience (advantageous) Experience in streetlight maintenance (advantageous) Understanding of traffic management requirements (advantageous) What's in it for you?
