Support Worker

Founders Care Trust – Wanganui, North Island Support Workers provide guidance, support and assistance to people living in residential services. You will work on a single-staffed rostered shift, which includes afternoon, morning, weekend and sleepover shifts. The role involves supporting people to live as independently as possible, make their own choices, participate in their community and enjoy a meaningful life. The position reports to the Team Leader and Manager. Key responsibilities Personal cares and daily living Household tasks and home support Meal planning and preparation Transport and appointments Banking and managing everyday activities Community participation and inclusion Social and recreational activities Developing independence and life skills Following individual care and support plans About you Empathetic, caring and respectful Builds positive relationships through empathy, patience, active listening and understanding Has initiative and can think creatively to find solutions Reliable, resilient and trustworthy Has integrity and takes responsibility for their actions Can follow policies, procedures, instructions and individual care plans Confident giving appropriate direction and guidance when required Can work independently and make appropriate decisions during a single-staffed shift Comfortable using a computer and has basic computer literacy About us Founders Care Trust is a non-profit charitable Trust providing quality residential support for Tangata Whaikaha / people living with intellectual disability in the Whanganui region.
