Wellington East Girls College – Wellington Central, North Island Wellington East Girls' College (WEGC) Te Kura Kōhine o te Rāwhiti o Te Upoko o Te Ika is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and culturally responsive International Director to lead and expand the growing international student programme. Reporting to the Principal, you will lead the International Department and oversee the recruitment, pastoral support, marketing, and operational management of the international programme. This is a permanent part-time role (30 hours per week / 0.75 FTE) based in Mount Victoria, Wellington, with domestic and international travel opportunities. Remuneration: Support Staff in Schools CA (Grade 6 or 7) / Secondary Teachers CA Start Date: 12 October 2026 Key responsibilities Develop and execute a modern strategic marketing and recruitment plan for key international markets Provide strategic leadership and manage the international department team, including the International Dean and Homestay Co-ordinator Ensure full compliance with the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 and conduct annual NZQA self-reviews Nurture strong relationships with offshore and onshore agents, ENZ, SIEBA, and key international partner institutions Oversee holistic student support, orientation, homestay provision, and academic tracking to promote student success and wellbeing Manage departmental finances, present annual budgets, and deliver updates to the Principal and Wellington East Girls' College Board About you Proven leadership experience in international education management, pastoral care, and/or marketing Comprehensive understanding of the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 Demonstrated success in strategic marketing, market development, and relationship-building with agents and stakeholders Strong team management capabilities and collaborative leadership approach Outstanding intercultural communication skills and genuine empathy for diverse student backgrounds Sound financial acumen, problem-solving skills, and budget management experience Willingness and flexibility to undertake international travel and provide after-hours emergency response as needed A job description is available on the school website - https://www.wegc.school.nz/our-school/vacancies About us Wellington East Girls' College (WEGC) Te Kura Kōhine o te Rāwhiti o Te Upoko o Te Ika is a proud, multicultural secondary school located in Mount Victoria, Wellington.
