Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Drainlayer/Drainage Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drainage work and hands‑on experience with essential equipment, including pipe lasers, wacker packers, and plate compactors. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient and safe operations on‑site while working collaboratively with our skilled team. Key Responsibilities: Proven experience in civil drainage / drainlaying Confident installing and working around pipes ranging through to 3m diameter Strong understanding of levels, grades, bedding and pipe installation Able to work from plans, drawings and site instructions Familiar with NZ drainage requirements, specifications and site standards Experience with trench work, manholes, culverts and stormwater systems Confident working with excavators and other heavy machinery Physically fit and willing to get stuck in when required Strong focus on health & safety Reliable transport and good attendance Full NZ Driver Licence preferred Drainlaying qualification/registration advantageous but not essential for experienced personnel. Requirements: Proven experience as a drainage labourer or in a similar role. Familiarity with drainage systems and construction practices. Proficient in operating pipe lasers, wacker packers, and plate compactors. Full Class 1 license and WTR endorsement. (Minimum) Strong awareness of working around machinery and safety procedures. Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively. Physically fit and able to perform manual labor as required.
