Christchurch | Registered Plumber - Leading Hand Franklin Smith Group – Auckland, North Island Christchurch | Registered Plumbing Leading Hand | Commercial Maintenance | $40–$45/hr We are looking for an experienced Registered Plumbing Leading Hand to join our client's team on a long-term maintenance contract within a large, live commercial building in Christchurch. This is a 50/50 hands-on and project coordination role, ideal for a plumber who is confident leading a team while also managing the planning, scheduling and delivery of commercial works. The Role: You will work closely with the maintenance department, client representatives and senior management, while overseeing a team of exempt plumbers. The role is working on a live site with a large focus on not impacting these live services, doing so could be extremely disruptive to an important service and costly. Key responsibilities: Supervising and overseeing exempt plumbers Hands-on commercial plumbing and pipe fitting Planning, scheduling and coordinating works Scoping jobs and managing works from start to finish Liaising directly with clients, stakeholders and senior management Planning and coordinating works around live and critical building services Scoping and managing potential shutdowns, including liaising with client workers Procuring parts, materials and equipment Monitoring and controlling costs Maintaining accurate documentation and job records Ensuring works are completed safely without impacting live services About You: NZ Registered Plumber – essential Certifying Plumber – preferred Strong commercial plumbing experience Proven pipe fitting experience Previous leading hand or supervisory experience Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills Confident dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders Ability to schedule, coordinate and manage multiple works Strong understanding of working safely around live services A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of projects What's on Offer $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience 6:30am – 3:30pm standard hours Long-term commercial maintenance contract Additional hours may be required during planned shutdown periods Strong career progression and the opportunity to grow with the company A genuine opportunity to develop further into project management and senior leadership #J-18808-Ljbffr
