We're passionate about creating beautifully made products that families love, and we're looking for an Apparel Production Assistant to join our team. You’ll be involved across the full product development and production process – from garment specifications and sampling through to coordinating both onshore and offshore production, supplier communication and final delivery. It’s a hands‑on, varied role where you can use your existing apparel knowledge while continuing to build your technical and production experience within a successful New Zealand‑owned business. About the Role This is a varied, hands‑on role where you’ll support both our apparel production function and the wider day‑to‑day operations of the business. This is not a purely desk‑based production role. Alongside garment and production work, you’ll regularly assist with warehouse and operational tasks including stock movements, supplier collections, picking, packing, pressing and deliveries. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with apparel production and product development Creating and maintaining product information within our inventory system (CIN7) Setting up new products and creating barcode information Creating, updating and maintaining garment specification sheets and production documentation Coordinating samples and production materials Assisting with onshore and offshore production processes Liaising with suppliers and contractors Supporting our warehouse team with stock deliveries, supplier pickups and transfers between company locations Supporting the warehouse with picking, packing and pressing during busy periods Delivering and collecting samples, fabrics, trims and production materials as required Is physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling, including lifting and moving bulky boxes of stock Providing day‑to‑day support to the Purchasing & Production Manager Assisting with other production and operational tasks as required About You We're looking for someone who: Has a qualification in Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, Apparel Production or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience) Has a sound understanding of garment construction and apparel manufacturing Has previous workplace experience creating and/or updating garment specification sheets and tech packs Has a practical understanding of garment measurements, fit and construction, including how changes to one area of a garment can affect other measurements and specifications Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail Has strong computer skills and enjoys learning new systems Can manage multiple tasks and changing priorities Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team Is physically fit and comfortable lifting and moving boxes of stock when required Holds a full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence and is confident driving a company van Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short practical garment specification exercise as part of the interview process.
