Our Values: Tumanako Mō te tūnga |About the role At Granger Grove, everyday moments are opportunities to support positive change. As a Support Worker, you’ll work alongside mothers and their tamariki, providing practical parenting support that builds confidence, strengthens parenting and life skills, and supports greater independence. Through everyday routines and interactions, you’ll coach, encourage and role model skills, helping mothers put their learning into practice. By building respectful relationships and providing consistent support, you’ll play an important role in each mother’s progress through the programme supporting their journey toward independence and confidence. In this role, you will: Coach and role model parenting, child management and everyday life skills. Build mothers’ confidence and support increasing independence for themselves and their tamariki. Support mothers’ journey through the program to independance Build respectful, trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality. Maintain clear, accurate documentation and incident reporting. Contribute to a safe and welcoming residential environment. Work collaboratively with the wider team through handovers, clinical meetings and supervision. Provide consistent support by following agreed plans and approaches. You are warm, dependable and genuinely committed to helping mothers build confidence and capability. You understand that effective support means working alongside mothers—coaching, modelling and encouraging them to develop skills and independence for themselves and their tamariki. You bring resilience and self-awareness to your practice, remaining calm and constructive in challenging situations and reflecting on how your own approach impacts others. You build trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries and provide the consistent, respectful support that helps mothers make meaningful progress. Skills and experience: Support work experiencein a residential programme (At least 3 years) Additional training or experience in early intervention services eg: attachment theory, special education services etc Strong interpersonal skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships. Computer literate, with solid Microsoft Office skills The ability to maintain accurate, professional documentation and respect confidentiality.
