We commission more than $65 million of Whānau Ora services and support to communities across the upper North Island, with a commitment to commissioning that is whānau-centred, locally owned, outcomes-driven, transparent and grounded in social investment. As Rangitaamiro moves from start-up into its next phase of organisational growth and maturity, we are seeking an experienced executive leader to join us as General Manager Commissioning. Te Tūranga | The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager Commissioning provides enterprise leadership across Rangitaamiro's commissioning operations in Tāmaki, Waikato/Tainui and Te Tai Tokerau. This is a significant leadership role responsible for translating organisational strategy into effective regional delivery and ensuring our commissioning investments deliver improved outcomes for whānau. You will lead our Regional Managers and Whānau Ora Intelligence function, bringing together regional intelligence, provider performance, investment priorities and organisational strategy to strengthen how Rangitaamiro commissions and manages public investment. Central to the role is embedding our One Rangitaamiro Operating Model — enabling regions to remain responsive to their whānau, iwi, providers and communities while creating the organisational consistency, performance disciplines and infrastructure required as Rangitaamiro grows. Ngā Haepapa Matua | Key Responsibilities As General Manager Commissioning, you will: provide enterprise leadership across Rangitaamiro's commissioning portfolio and regional operations; lead and develop the Regional Managers across Tāmaki, Waikato/Tainui and Te Tai Tokerau; ensure commissioning investments deliver agreed outcomes for whānau and communities; strengthen provider performance, commissioning disciplines and investment implementation; integrate Whānau Ora intelligence, evidence and performance information into commissioning decisions; ensure regional insight and whānau voice inform organisational investment and planning; maintain strong operational governance, quality assurance, risk management and commissioning accountability; build trusted strategic relationships with iwi, providers, government agencies, funders and other partners; strengthen leadership capability and high performance across geographically dispersed teams; and drive continuous improvement and greater operational maturity across Rangitaamiro. Mōu | About You We are looking for an accomplished senior leader who can operate confidently at the intersection of public investment, commissioning, regional leadership, organisational performance and kaupapa Māori. You will bring significant executive-level experience leading commissioning, investment, funding or complex service delivery, ideally within the Māori, iwi, public, health or social sectors. You will also bring: proven leadership of geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary teams; strong commercial acumen and financial stewardship, including experience with significant public investment; experience operating within regional or matrix leadership environments; strong knowledge of commissioning, procurement, contracting and performance management; the ability to translate strategy into disciplined operational delivery; sophisticated executive judgement and systems thinking; experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement; the ability to use evidence, intelligence and performance information to inform investment decisions; strong relationships and credibility with iwi, providers, government agencies, Boards and senior stakeholders; and a demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Whānau Ora and kaupapa Māori approaches. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is expected, with mātauranga Māori and lived experience recognised. A postgraduate qualification in management, public policy, health, business or a related discipline would be advantageous.
