Te Pae School (Proposed opening date: 2027-01-01) – Auckland, North Island Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher Te Pae School is a new full primary school opening in 2027 in the growing Westgate community in Auckland. The school will offer both English-medium and Māori immersion pathways. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a foundation team and help shape a school from the ground up alongside staff, whānau, and Mana Whenua, Te Kawerau ā Maki. We are seeking a passionate, relational, and experienced ESOL teacher to join our foundation team from the beginning of Term 4 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop an ESOL programme from the ground up. We are looking for an ESOL teacher who: Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and whānau Has a strong understanding of ESOL teaching, assessment, and effective practice for multilingual learners Can develop and deliver targeted, engaging ESOL programmes Can assess, monitor, and track the progress of ESOL learners Works collaboratively with classroom teachers to support differentiation and scaffold learning Values culturally and linguistically responsive practice Values Te Ao Māori and honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi Is highly organised and able to support ESOL funding, assessment, and reporting requirements Is adaptable, reflective, and excited by the opportunity to help establish ESOL provision in a new school Brings energy, creativity, a growth mindset, and a sense of humour Creates inclusive and inspiring learning environments for our tamariki As a new school, our ESOL needs and numbers will continue to develop as enrolments grow.
