Machinist - Manufacturing and Engineering Western Engineering Group (1996) Ltd is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team in our Avondale, Auckland manufacturing facility. This is a full-time position where you will play a key role in our engineering and manufacturing operations. What you'll be doing Operate a variety of heavy-duty machine tools such as lathes, mills and drill presses to manufacture precision components Familiarity with the use of CNC control systems by Fagor, Siemens and Proto Trak would be a distinct advantage Fitting and/or welding experience would also be an advantage Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate machining Set up and adjust machines, tools and fixtures to ensure optimal performance and product quality Monitor machine operations, make adjustments as needed and identify any issues or defects Maintain detailed records of production activities, quality checks and machine maintenance Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to solve problems and improve processes Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures What we're looking for Several years of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing or engineering environment Strong knowledge of operating and maintaining a range of machine tools including CNC lathes, mills, grinders and drill presses Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications Good problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Good communication and teamwork skills What we offer At Western Engineering Group, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment where our employees can thrive.
