NZ Ministry of Justice – Wellington Central, North Island The Business Analyst is a Fixed Term Full Time opportunity until 30 May 2029 responsible for working collaboratively with business stakeholders, programme teams, digital service teams, technical specialists, and vendors to understand, analyse, and document business, information, reporting, analytics, and data requirements. Reporting to theManager Te Au Reka Data Enablement,the Business Analyst acts as a conduit between business units, organisational stakeholders, and Te Au Reka delivery teams. The role develops a strong understanding of current business operations, futureobjectives, and information needs, then translates these into clear requirements and recommendations that support reporting, analytics, insights, and data-enabled decision-making. Working within a complex transformation environment, the Business Analyst supports the delivery of high-quality, fit-for-purpose data and information solutions by analysing business services, processes, organisational structures, information flows, and reporting requirements. The role works closely with stakeholders toidentifyopportunities for improvement and to ensure that data, reporting, and analytics capabilities align with business outcomes and operational needs. The role supports stakeholder engagement andchangeactivities that may result in improvements to business services, reporting processes, information management practices, data governance, and service delivery mechanisms. This may also include supporting the introduction of new digital solutions, automation opportunities, and analytics capabilities that enhance organisational performance and decision-making. As part of the Data Enablement team, the Business Analyst playsan important rolein ensuring Te Au Reka delivers enduring value through trusted data, meaningful insights, and sustainable information capabilities. The Business Analyst contributes to the successful delivery of Te Au Reka by helping ensure that: Business, reporting, analytics, and data requirements are clearly defined and understood. Data models, reporting solutions, and migration approaches reflect business needs and support operational and performance outcomes. Data quality, completeness, and reconciliation requirements areidentifiedand addressed. Reporting and information solutions are fit-for-purpose, trusted, and sustainable. Stakeholders are engaged throughout the design and delivery process to support adoption and business readiness. To be successful in this role you will: Bring proven Business Analysis experience in large, complex programmes, projects, or transformation environments.
