Registered Nurse with Mental Health Experience - Tamahere Hospital Tamahere Hospital and Healing Centre - Tamahere, North Island Nau mai, haere mai ki Tamahere Hospital and Healing Centre Tamahere Hospital and Healing Centre, sited on 15 acres of culturally historic whenua in the heart of Ngaati Haua between Cambridge and Hamilton, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Pou Pukenga) to work within our minimum secure forensic inpatient facility. Primarily, this role involves practical mental health recovery support, facilitating measurable and successful outcomes for whanau. Outstanding communication skills, as well as a supportive, respectful, and conscientious manner are key. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop organisational skills and clinical confidence. We work very closely as a team providing plenty of opportunity to discuss clinical cases and risk. With an understanding of the challenges faced by people with lived experience, the successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and abilities: The ability to establish sound, trusting relationships with who we look after we refer to these as whanau Genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of people Current New Zealand Registered Nursing qualifications Previous mental health experience and/or two years general ward experience Ability to work collaboratively Experience working independently, assuming accountability and responsibility for your actions, making critical decisions in challenging and complex situations A competitive salary range depending on skills, knowledge, and experience Insight into Te Ao Maaori and Kaupapa Maaori approaches to hauora and wellbeing Close mentoring and supervision from experienced clinicians and managers Electronic record keeping, including Medimap prescribing and dispensing. All meals during your shifts are provided as part of your paid meal breaks Free onsite parking We are a kaupapa Maaori service who believes having a diverse workforce allows us to bestsupport individuals and their whanau.
