Technical Specialist - Passive Fire Protection Are you a passive fire protection expert, fire engineer or technical specialist looking for a role where you can influence major projects without carrying a traditional sales target? We're partnering with a leading supplier of passive fire protection and protective coating systems to recruit a Technical Specialist who will become the go-to expert for their commercial fire protection solutions across New Zealand. This is a unique position that sits between engineering, technical support and business development. You'll work alongside architects, fire engineers, consultants, fabricators and internal sales teams, helping ensure the right passive fire protection systems are specified and applied on commercial and infrastructure projects. What you'll be doing Provide technical expertise on commercial intumescent, cementitious and hydrocarbon fire protection systems. Support architects, consultants, fire engineers and contractors with product selection and system design. Deliver technical presentations and training to customers and industry stakeholders. Assist the sales team with technical advice, specifications and project support. Keep up to date with fire protection standards, regulations and industry developments. Work closely with international technical partners to introduce new products and technologies. Identify opportunities to grow the business through specification-led projects across New Zealand. What we're looking for You'll likely come from one of the following backgrounds: Passive fire protection Fire engineering Protective coatings Chemical or materials engineering Another technical industry involving regulated products or specification sales You'll also bring Experience providing technical advice to customers, consultants or engineering teams. A strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and relevant NZ or international standards. Excellent communication and presentation skills. The ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A tertiary qualification in engineering, chemistry or a related discipline (preferred). What's in it for you?
