What you’lldo As a Strategic Business Development Lead , internally knowas aStrategicBusiness Development Partne r ,you’llidentify,shapeand convert significantcommercialand industrialopportunities that strengthen Genesis’ position and support a more renewable,flexibleand resilient energy system. You’lllead complex opportunities from early market insight and qualification through commercial structuring,negotiationand execution. Working across Genesis,you’llbring together the rightexpertiseto create compelling solutions that deliver enduring value for our customers and the business. Some of the key responsibilities are: Build andmaintaina strong pipeline of high-value strategic opportunities and partnerships across priority markets. Develop trusted relationships with C-suite executives, investors,developersand other senior decision-makers. Shape deal strategies, value propositions and commercial structures across energy supply, renewables, flexibility,resilienceand related services. Lead cross-functional deal teams, creating alignment and momentum across commercial, technical, financial, legal and risk workstreams. Lead complex commercial negotiations and guide opportunities through governance,approvaland contracting. Maintain strong market intelligence across areas including datacentres, industrial investment, energy transition,technologyand infrastructure. What you’llbring You’llbe an experienced commercial leader who is comfortable operating in complex, high-value environments.You’llcombine strategic thinking with strong commercial judgement and have the credibility to influence senior decision-makers while navigating opportunities from ambiguity through to execution. We’relooking for someone with: Significant senior experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercialstrategyor complex solution sales. A strongtrack recordof originating and progressing high-value, long-cycleand multi-party commercial opportunities. Strong commercial, financial and contract capability, with the ability to understand deal economics,riskand strategic value. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes without relying on formal authority. Executive-level relationship management and complex negotiation experience. Strong written communication skills, including business cases, executive presentations, commercialproposalsand decision papers. Experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities, datacentres, industrial development,technologyor another capital-intensive sectorwould bebeneficial. Knowledge of New Zealand energy markets, PPAs, renewable products, flexibility,storageor customerdecarbonisationwould also be valued.
