Safety and Wellbeing Officer

Whitehall Fruitpackers – Cambridge, North Island You will be coming in as our Safety and Wellbeing Officer. You will partner closely with frontline teams, managers, contractors, and senior leadership to ensure risks are effectively managed, safety is embedded into everyday operations, and continuous improvement remains a priority. The role will be 30-35 hours/week but we are flexible around this. Key responsibilities Actively promote health, safety and wellbeing culture within the company and the different business units Maintain knowledge of relevant and up-to-date industry information and current legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and apply it in a practical way Manage the health and safety systems and oversee the administration of the online health and safety system Actively lead and report to management incidents, accidents, investigations, audits and corrective actions Maintain the training and competency documentation and systems Lead and support the Health and Safety team to create a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture About you A relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or related discipline Experience improving health and safety management systems along with managing risks, incidents and investigations Effective communication skills and relationship-building abilities, as well as ability to work alone if required High attention to detail with strong organisational skills, along with being proactive and having initiative Confidence delivering training and facilitating safety conversations Good time management to finish tasks in a timely manner A current full New Zealand driver's license About us Whitehall Fruitpackers is a progressive horticultural company based in the Waikato.
