About the Role We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to be a part of our Allied Health Team within the Interim Care Service (ICS) at Health New Zealand Waitematā. The Interim Care Service is primarily for patients who have presented with acute injuries or conditions that require a temporary admission to an ARC (Aged Residential Care) facility for a period of recovery and rehabilitation. The Occupational Therapy role involves working in conjunction with the ICSC Charge Nurse Manager and an inter-disciplinary allied health team, providing rehabilitation to patients where immediate discharge is not achievable in the short term as a result of certain injuries, medical needs and/or environmental factors in their home eg. multiple stairs. Overall, this position will give you the opportunity toprovidehigh quality, patient centred rehabilitation and care , and assist through the different transitions patients experience from inpatients toICS, and eventually, back home. About the Team/Service/ Location The Interim Care Service is based at North Shore Hospital, although it spans across a range of different ARC facilities both on the North Shore and in West Auckland, with opportunities to in-reach into the inpatient teams to support seamless transitions into ICSh. About you Our ideal candidate will: Be a registered Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate Have 2+ years of post-graduate experience in an acute hospital setting/community setting Have a passion for high quality, patient-centred rehabilitation Be committed to team work and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration Have an ability to be flexible and adaptable within a busy, fast-paced work environment Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
