As a Rehabilitation Coach, you will work alongside people living with acquired brain injuries and other disabilities, helping them build practical skills, participate in their communities and achieve goals that are meaningful to them. This is a hands-on role where progress is personal. It could mean supporting someone to become more independent at home, reconnect with their community, develop new skills or feel more confident completing everyday activities. We place the people we support at the centre of everything we do. Whether someone is learning everyday life skills, working towards employment or strengthening their connection with their community, we work alongside them to support greater choice, control and independence. About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week. The usual hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility available. You will preferably be based on Auckland’s North Shore; however, travel throughout the wider Auckland region will be required. The role includes a mix of community-based and centre-based support. You will work one-to-one and in group settings, supporting people living with acquired brain injuries or other disabilities. You will build trusted relationships with the people we support and their families or whānau, helping each person work towards their individual goals and aspirations. This role involves regular driving, including the use of a mobility vehicle. Training will be provided where required. What you will do | Ngā mahi Support people to develop everyday living skills, confidence and greater independence Deliver individual and group-based rehabilitation activities Support people in their homes, communities, workplaces and centre-based settings Build positive, collaborative relationships with clients and their families or whānau Recognise and respond to each person’s changing support needs Encourage community participation and connection Contribute ideas that strengthen our rehabilitation programmes Maintain accurate records and complete reports within required timeframes Work alongside community organisations and referral agencies, including ACC, MSD and the Ministry of Health What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga You will be a practical, compassionate and dependable person who enjoys helping others make meaningful progress. You will also bring: A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4, an equivalent qualification, or a willingness to work towards this qualification Experience supporting disabled people or people living with an acquired brain injury is preferred Confidence working independently and supporting people in different environments Strong communication and relationship-building skills Good planning, administration and computer skills An understanding of the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in service delivery Current First Aid and Epilepsy training, or a willingness to complete this training A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence The ability and willingness to drive a mobility vehicle Why join us? | He aha ai mātou?
