Business Support Specialist - Procurement & Contracts Waikato Regional Council – Hamilton, North Island Lead and support procurement, tendering, and contract processes across ICM Monitor contract performance and help minimise organisational risk Keep our contract management systems and processes humming Drive continuous improvement in procurement and business processes Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to deliver great outcomes Someone who keeps work flowing smoothly and can pivot when new tasks or challenges arise Skilled at building strong relationships and fostering a positive, solutions‑focused working dynamic Calm under pressure – can handle a busy environment and tight deadlines Confident communicator with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills Proactive, curious, and always looking for better ways of doing things Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience 3–4+ years’ experience in procurement, contracts Experience preparing and publishing procurement opportunities on GETS, ensuring processes align with government procurement requirements Strong skills in Microsoft 365 and contract management systems Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and working with tangata whenua Desirable: Local government experience and procurement‑specific expertise Mō te tīma | About the team You’ll join a team powered by good coffee, good humour, and the shared understanding that some days just require a strategic deep breath.
