Learning Assistant - Full time

Remuera Intermediate School is seeking a full-time teacher aide to join our dedicated team commencing in Term 4, 12 October 2026 or earlier by mutual agreement. This role is crucial in supporting our students with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential. The position is based at our school in Remuera, Auckland. What you'll be doing Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with learning, behavioural and/or social and emotional needs Help students participate in classroom activities and stay on task Implement behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support as needed Assist teachers in preparing and modifying lesson materials to meet the needs of individual students What we're looking for Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping 11-13 year-old students succeed A team player who is flexible and energetic with a sense of humour and a strong work ethic Initiative Previous experience working as a teacher aide or in a similar role supporting students with special educational needs is a bonus but not essential About us Remuera Intermediate School is a thriving, culturally diverse learning community dedicated to excellence in education.
