English Tutor (Year1-10) $40-$60 P/H

M&R Learning Centre is looking for a passionate and experienced English Teacher / Tutor to join our friendly teaching team in Parnell. We provide small-group and one-on-one tuition for students from Year 1 to Year 10 , with a strong focus on developing students' reading, writing, grammar, comprehension and communication skills. We also support secondary students preparing for NCEA and IGCSE English examinations . Key Responsibilities Teach English to students from Year 1-10 Deliver engaging English Writing lessons, including creative, persuasive, descriptive and formal writing Support students with reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and language development Provide NCEA English preparation and exam support Provide IGCSE English preparation and exam support Plan and adapt lessons according to students' individual levels and learning needs Provide constructive feedback on students' writing and academic progress Teach both small-group classes and one-on-one lessons Help students develop confidence, strong writing skills and effective exam techniques About You We are looking for someone who: Has strong English language and writing skills Has experience teaching or tutoring primary and/or secondary school students Is confident teaching English Writing Has knowledge of NCEA and/or Cambridge IGCSE English curriculum and assessment requirements Can explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching to different ability levels Is patient, reliable, organised and enthusiastic about working with young learners Has excellent communication skills Is committed to helping students achieve measurable academic progress Previous teaching or tutoring experience in New Zealand is highly valued. Experience with NCEA or Cambridge IGCSE exam preparation would be a strong advantage.
