About the role: Skills Institute is looking for an experienced Café Supervisor to lead our on‑site training café in Wiri. This permanent part‑time role (25 hours per week, Monday–Thursday) is perfect for someone with café or hospitality leadership experience who enjoys developing others. You'll oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the café while mentoring Hospitality Level 3 and 4 students, helping them build the practical skills and confidence they'll need for successful careers in the industry. What you'll be doing: Supervise the day‑to‑day operation of our training café Mentor and support hospitality students in a real‑world café environment Deliver exceptional customer service to staff, students, and visitors Manage stock, ordering, cash handling, and end‑of‑day reconciliation Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and Food Control Plan requirements Support catering and special events while maintaining high service standards What you'll bring: Previous hospitality experience, ideally in a café environment Experience leading or supervising a team Excellent communication and customer service skills Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and café operations Strong organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a busy environment Barista experience would be an advantage At Skills Group, we're passionate about developing New Zealand's future workforce.
