Boost and Supplier Discounts Free soft drinks in the office Being a Research and Statistical Analyst at Aspeq: The Research and Statistical Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the quality, validity, reliability, and fairness of examinations delivered by Aspeq. Using advanced statistical analysis and research techniques, the role evaluates examination and question performance, identifies trends and anomalies, and provides evidence-based recommendations to support continuous improvement. The role helps ensure Aspeq's assessment products meet contemporary assessment theory and maintain the high standards expected by clients and candidates. Working closely with the Assessment Services Team and other internal stakeholders, the Research and Statistical Analyst analyses complex data, monitors question bank performance, contributes to workflow and system improvements, and translates technical findings into practical insights that support business and client decision making. The role combines strong analytical expertise with problem solving, research capability, and clear communication to support the delivery of high-quality examinations across New Zealand, Australia, and international markets. To succeed in this role, you will need to: Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Psychology, or another quantitative field). 3+ years’ experience in a similar role. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Possess expertise in advanced statistical analysis, with required proficiency in R for data manipulation and analysis, along with essential familiarity with PowerBI, SQL and Excel. It would be desirable to have experience with Fabric, R Shiny, R Markdown and creating and managing workflows. Be able to apply initiative and judgment in interpreting complex information and operational issues.
