Job Description
Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Currie Electrical – Whangarei, North Island Lead the branch. Grow the business. Build the team. Deliver the result. The Opportunity CSL is one of New Zealand’s leading transport and infrastructure businesses, delivering intelligent transport systems, streetlighting, traffic signals, dynamic lane systems and transport technology solutions across New Zealand. In Northland, we operate through Currie Electrical , a long-established and respected electrical business and part of the CSL Group. We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Whangārei operation and take responsibility for its next stage of growth. This is not simply an operational management role. You will have responsibility for the overall performance of the branch — people, customers, projects, growth and profitability — with the autonomy to make decisions and the backing of a growing national infrastructure business. What You'll Own As Branch Manager, you will be accountable for the performance of the Whangārei business. Your responsibilities will include: People & Leadership – build, lead and develop a high-performing team with clear expectations and accountability. Business Growth – identify opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and actively grow our presence across Northland. Customers – develop trusted, long-term relationships and ensure we consistently deliver on our commitments. Project Delivery – ensure work is planned and delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required standard. Commercial Performance – understand the numbers, manage costs and margins, and ensure variations, retentions and project revenues are captured. Resources – ensure we have the right people, equipment and capability to deliver both today's workload and tomorrow's growth. Health, Safety & Quality – lead a culture where safety and quality are part of how we operate, not simply a compliance exercise. What Success Looks Like Success in this role isn't measured by simply keeping the branch running. We want to see a stronger business. A business with: A capable, engaged and accountable team. Strong customer relationships and repeat business. A growing pipeline of opportunities. Projects that are well planned and well delivered. Strong commercial and financial performance. A reputation across Northland for being a contractor that gets things done. You will work from the customer meeting to the job site, and from the branch P&L to the frontline. You'll understand what's happening in the business because you're close enough to the people, customers and projects to know. About You You may already be a Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager or experienced leader within an electrical, infrastructure, construction, utilities, engineering or contracting business. We're less concerned about your exact job title and more interested in what you've actually done. You'll Bring Proven leadership experience and the ability to build strong teams. Experience in delivering service and maintenance contracts Proven client relationships, with demonstrable ability to build trust Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of what drives profitability. Experience delivering projects and managing operational resources. A track record of identifying and developing new business opportunities. Confidence making decisions and taking ownership of the outcome. Strong communication, negotiation and relationship skills. A practical, solutions-focused approach. Above all, we're looking for someone who takes ownership and gets things done. If you thrive in a results-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you!
