Make a real difference in the lives of survivors – join a supportive and dedicated team! About us: Since 1982, HELP Auckland has been standing alongside survivors of sexual violence by providing a range of services – including a 24-hour crisis service that offers counselling, advocacy, and support to adults, children and their whānau. At HELP, you’ll be part of an organisation with a proud history, a strong commitment to social change, and a team deeply dedicated to making a difference every day. About the role: Life doesn’t schedule crisis for business hours; therefore, we are looking for counsellors that are willing to dedicate their evenings and weekends to crisis work. This is a part time role (Min. 17.5-20hrs), that will have regularly scheduled shifts each week. The shifts typically go from 6pm – 8am on weekdays. And 5pm – 9am & 9am – 5pm on weekends and public holidays. It will involve a hybrid style of working, one half day in the office (Mondays) for the Team meeting and the rest from home, either on the phones or going to a call-out. This role is perfect for someone with a private Counselling practice, or contract work that wants to expand their skills and supplement their income. While experience in trauma counselling and recovery is not essential – it will give your application a definite advantage. What you need: Relevant qualification in the field of Counselling, Psychology or Psychotherapy. A member of (Or working towards) registration with a NZ professional body (e.g. NZAC, NZCCA, NZAP, PBANZ) Full clean current driver’s license and a legal vehicle available for work use. An understanding or desire to understand the dynamics of sexual violence and impact of sexual violence trauma. What we provide: Specialist training in sexual violence and trauma. Professional development and ongoing training. A strong, supportive, and friendly close-knit team. Regular access to supervision and support. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
