Project Engineer — Quality Assurance & Technical Support Do you take pride in getting the paperwork as right as the pavement? Camex Civil is looking for a Project Engineer to take full ownership of quality assurance across our Bay of Plenty term maintenance contracts, while providing technical support and QA oversight across our wider BOP project portfolio. About the Role You’ll take full ownership of QA and AWM/RAMM record-keeping for our BOP term maintenance contracts, leading the live implementation of Contract Quality Plans and ITPs, managing hold and witness points, and keeping claim-support evidence complete and on time. Alongside this, you’ll provide QA support and practical onsite technical assistance across our wider BOP project portfolio. Key responsibilities include: Leading implementation of Contract Quality Plans (CQPs) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), including hold, witness and monitor point management and Engineer notifications. Owning AWM/RAMM records dispatch data, quantities, photos, dockets and test results ensuring claim-support evidence is accurate and submitted on time. Managing non-conformances end-to‑end: recording, notifying the Engineer, driving correction with crews, and closing out via reinspection or retesting. Visiting BOP sites to verify work against specification and ITPs and providing practical technical support to site managers and foremen drawings, set out and levels, RFIs and methodology input. Coordinating hold point and testing requirements (NDM, plateau, proof roll, CBR, Benkelman) with laboratory and geotechnical providers. Building strong working relationships with the Engineer to Contract, council representatives and site teams. What You’ll Bring A tertiary qualification in civil engineering (BE, BEng Tech or NZDE), or equivalent demonstrated site and QA experience. 3+ years in civil construction or roading, with genuine hands‑on QA exposure, not QA as an afterthought. Strong QA discipline across CQPs, ITPs, hold points, NCRs and testing records that would stand up to formal audit. Working knowledge of NZS 3910 and NZS 3917. AWM/RAMM experience (or a comparable asset/maintenance management system) is a strong advantage. Confidence on site and credibility with crews, you can identify a non‑conformance and get it corrected without creating friction. What’s On Offer A company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone provided.
