Pantry d’Or Boutique Bakery in Rotorua is seeking a capable Café Manager to organise and oversee daily café operations, lead and support the team, manage stock and service standards, and deliver an excellent customer experience. This is a permanent, full-time position paying $25–$30 per hour. The successful applicant will bring a relevant hospitality or management qualification or relevant café or restaurant management experience, together with strong organisational skills and a practical, hands‑on approach. About Pantry d’Or Sulphur City Bakery Limited, trading as Pantry d’Or Boutique Bakery, operates a bakery café in Rotorua. With an increase in seatings and in-house demand, we are seeking a capable and hands‑on Café Manager to organise and oversee the café’s day‑to‑day operations and help us maintain high standards of service, food presentation and customer experience. The successful applicant will also take charge of our front‑of‑house operations. Number of positions: One Employment type: Permanent, full‑time Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience and capability Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week The position will involve rostered work between 5.00 am and 4.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, and may require availability on public holidays. Key responsibilities Organise and oversee the café’s day‑to‑day operations, staffing and customer service. Plan and coordinate staff rosters to support efficient service. Select, train, supervise and support café and service staff. Monitor staff performance and ensure workplace procedures are followed. Coordinate purchasing and pricing within the approved operating budget. Monitor stock levels, place orders and manage stock rotation and wastage. Maintain appropriate stock, sales and financial transaction records. Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages. Ensure the café, dining and service areas are clean, functional and compliant with food safety, health and safety, and other applicable requirements. Engage with customers, monitor customer satisfaction and resolve service concerns professionally. Work with the kitchen and bakery teams to coordinate menus, product availability and customer demand. Assist with reservations, customer orders and front‑of‑house service when operationally required. Help implement procedures that support efficient operations, customer satisfaction and the reputation of the business. About you To be considered, you will need: at least three years of hospitality experience, including a minimum of two years of relevant café or restaurant management experience; demonstrated experience supporting staff in a busy hospitality environment; practical knowledge of staff rostering, stock control, ordering, cost awareness and service standards; demonstrated experience in restaurant or café budgeting, pricing and stock purchasing; good organisational, communication and customer‑service skills; the ability to handle customer concerns calmly and professionally; an understanding of food safety, cleanliness and workplace health and safety requirements; and a reliable, professional and hands‑on approach to work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
