About the Role We are seeking two dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technicians to join our dynamic and hardworking laboratory team. In these roles, you will work within a modern and well-equipped lab, offering the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and develop your skills in medical laboratory science. The successful candidates will contribute to essential clinical support and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our laboratory across core departments. This role will consist primarily of shifts between 11.30 pm 08.30 am Key responsibilities: Laboratory Support: Assist in the daily operations of the Core laboratory departments, including quality control, sample analysis, reagent management, and providing clinical support. Registration: Manage the receipt, registration and prioritisation of specimens into the laboratory. Shift Work: Participate in the 24/7 out-of-hours roster, including evening and weekend shifts, ensuring continuous laboratory services. Collaboration: Work closely with laboratory scientists, clinicians, and other team members to deliver high-quality laboratory services. About the Service Our fast-paced medical diagnostic laboratory supports Waikato Hospital and its five satellite hospitals. We also offer specialist testing services for community laboratories throughout the Waikato and Midland regions, ensuring a comprehensive service for our patients. About you To be successful in this role, you will need the following: Communication Skills :Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Teamwork :Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Commitment to Quality :A strong focus on continuous quality improvement. Registration :Must be registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, or eligible for registration.
