Ramen Takara is an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchenhand to join our busy team in Auckland. If you are passionate about Japanese cuisine and enjoy working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, we would love to hear from you. Job Description Ramen Takara is a Japanese noodle house established in 1978, serving authentic Japanese ramen and a range of traditional Japanese dishes, including our famous pork gyoza and karaage chicken. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of experienced chefs and assist with the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen. Location 272 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby, Auckland The employer's mobile food truck operating at various locations and events throughout the Auckland region. Working Hours 30–40 hours per week The restaurant operates from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Working hours will be allocated on a roster and may include evenings, weekends and public holidays. Hourly Rate NZD $25.00–$28.00 per hour Key Responsibilities Clean kitchen, food preparation areas and scullery; Wash dishes, cooking utensils, kitchen equipment and work surfaces; Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the kitchen; Receive, check and store food supplies and stock; Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting and preparing ingredients; Assist chefs with the preparation of simple food items under their direction; Heat, toast and portion simple food items as instructed by chefs; Plate, pack and present takeaway and dine-in orders; Assist with stock rotation and general kitchen organisation; and Perform other general kitchen duties as required. Requirements The successful applicant will: Be reliable, punctual and well organised; Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen; Be able to work effectively as part of a team; Be passionate about Japanese cuisine and willing to learn; Be physically fit and capable of standing for long periods and performing manual kitchen duties; Have at least one year's experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar hospitality environment; and Be available to work weekday and weekend dinner shifts (5:00 pm until late), as well as other rostered shifts when required. Holding a recognised Food Hygiene or Food Safety Certificate is advantageous. #J-18808-Ljbffr
