Leading food manufacturer and major employer in the East Coast welcomes an experienced Cold Store/ Logistics Manager to join their Gisborne based team. About the role Reporting to the Plant Manager, this key role is responsible for ensuring sustainable, safe, and efficient storage and transportation of products. You will be responsible for overseeing cold store operations, inventory management, logistics coordination, and building strong relationships with transport providers and regulatory bodies, including MPI. You will lead a day shift team of 10 staff, along with oversight of a night shift team of 10 during the peak six-month season, supported by an on-shift Supervisor. Responsibilities · Schedule workloads · Maximise transport resources effectively and efficiently, including truck planning. · Controlling and managing inventory. · Maximise labour resources and control labour costs. · Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement. · Maintain positive relationships with our important stakeholders. On offer · Competitive salary · Be part of our site management team · Opportunities to continue to grow and develop · Job security · Great team culture What We're Looking For: · Experience in cold store, warehousing, logistics, or inventory management · Strong leadership and people management skills · Experience managing transport and logistics coordination · Strong communication and organisational skills · Food processing or manufacturing experience is advantageous · Ability to self-motivate and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines. · Understanding of shipping and e-cert documentation. · An understanding of compliance and health and safety in a modern food processing industry.
