About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join us in Ophthalmology Outpatients. Weoffer a great team environment and are supportive of professional development. As a RegisteredNurse in the eye clinic, you'll be responsible for: Undertaking ophthalmic assessment on a wide range of patients, withvarying ophthalmic conditions, both acute and chronic. Managing acutely unwell patients that present from the communityand the ward. Performing a variety of different scans and technical assessmentson patients and assist nurses and doctors with sterile procedures andassessments. Working alongside a House Officer to undertake preadmissionassessments on patients requiring surgery. Providing the patient with education about the surgery andpost-operative needs. Undertakingexpanded nursing roles like intravitreal injections and cornealcross-linking after undergoing the required training Please note thisrole is open only to current staff of Health New Zealand. We providenursing support and care for up to thirty different Specialities. The EyeClinic is a very busy and demanding service that is staffed by a dedicated teamof Nurses, Orthoptists, Optometrists and Technicians who work closely with ourhighly skilled and specialised Ophthalmologists to meet the eye health needs ofthe people of Canterbury. About You 1+ years' experience in Ophthalmology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability tobuild effective relationships with a strong patient focus Ability to work under pressure Excellent time management and attention to detail Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
