Casual Security Officer / Surveillance Contractor Sightline Security – Auckland, North Island Casual Security Officer / Surveillance Contractor Auckland-wide | Casual | $28–$33 per hour Sightline Security is growing, and we're looking to build a reliable pool of casual security and surveillance contractors for assignments across Auckland . Please note: While this advertisement is listed under Auckland CBD, our work is Auckland-wide and assignments may be located anywhere across the Auckland region. Contractors should be comfortable travelling to different sites depending on the assignment. This is a casual subcontractor position , suited to people looking for flexible work and who are comfortable accepting assignments as they become available. Work may be infrequent at times and there are no guaranteed hours. However, contractors who consistently demonstrate reliability, professionalism and strong performance will have the opportunity to receive more regular work and potentially progress into an ongoing full-time contractor arrangement as our business grows. About the work Our assignments are varied and may include: Retail security and loss prevention Static security Site surveillance and monitoring Residential, commercial or public-area surveillance Day or night assignments Monitoring and documenting activity relevant to an assignment Providing scheduled or hourly updates to clients Writing clear and accurate reports Other security work as required Surveillance assignments can vary significantly from job to job. Contractors will be provided with the relevant instructions and requirements for each assignment. Assignments may take place during the day, overnight, weekdays or weekends , depending on client requirements. What we're looking for We're looking for contractors who are: Reliable and punctual Observant and detail-oriented Comfortable working independently Able to remain alert during extended periods of monitoring Professional and respectful when dealing with people Confident communicating with clients and team members Able to write clear and accurate reports Comfortable using a phone and basic technology Available to accept short-notice assignments where possible Comfortable travelling to different locations across Auckland Requirements You must: Hold a current New Zealand Certificate of Approval (COA) Hold a full New Zealand driver's licence Have reliable access to a vehicle Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand Previous security, surveillance, investigation, military, law enforcement or retail security experience is advantageous, but we're also interested in people with the right attitude, reliability and attention to detail. Pay & progression Rates generally range from $28–$33 per hour , depending on the type of assignment, experience and responsibilities involved. As a casual contractor, there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours . Work will depend on client requirements and your availability. We're building a reliable contractor network.
