We're looking for an experienced Producer to join our Performing Arts Rōpū, with a strong focus on delivering creative experiences in Auckland's public realm. Reporting to the Senior Producer, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of public realm programmes and activations, while also contributing to selected projects across Auckland Live's iconic venue network. managing projects from concept through to delivery. You'll work alongside artists, presenters, stakeholders, and internal teams to bring performances, festivals, and creative public activations to life while balancing creative ambition with commercial outcomes. Working across iconic public spaces such as Aotea Square, Te Komititanga and other locations across Tāmaki Makaurau, you'll collaborate with artists, communities, presenters and partners to bring ambitious creative experiences to life. While your primary focus will be to deliver public realm programming, you’ll also work closely with the wider producing team supporting Auckland Live's performing arts portfolio across our venue network, including The Civic, Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall, Bruce Mason Centre and Queens Wharf. Key responsibilities include: Producing and delivering a diverse programme of public realm programmes, creative activations, festivals across Auckland's civic spaces while contributing to selected venue-based projects, from concept through to delivery and evaluation. Working with permitting, operational, safety, precinct and stakeholder teams to deliver high-quality experiences in public spaces, ensuring activations are accessible, welcoming and responsive to the diverse audiences and communities. Managing project budgets, contracts, financial reporting, commercial outcomes, and associated procurement, including purchase orders and invoicing. Coordinating artist engagement, including contracts, visas, travel, accommodation, and venue bookings. Building and managing strong relationships with artists, presenters, partners, marketing, and internal operational teams to deliver successful events and audience outcomes. Supporting culturally responsive delivery by working alongside diverse communities and project partners, with a strong commitment to manaakitanga. Collaborating with Production Managers, Event Planners, Creative Producers, and permitting and operational teams to ensure seamless delivery across public realm and venue-based events projects. You’ll be an experienced Producer or project manager who excels at delivering creative work in public spaces and is passionate about live performance, cultural experiences, and connecting communities through place-based programming. You’re highly organised, solutions-focused, and enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of people to deliver exceptional experiences. You’ll also bring: Significant experience producing live events, festivals, outdoor activations, place-based programmes, or arts experiences in public spaces, with an understanding of the operational requirements of working in the public realm. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience managing contracts, budgets, financial reporting, and event logistics. Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities. Experience working with local government, precinct stakeholders, communities, permitting processes, or public space operations. Knowledge of New Zealand's performing arts and cultural sector. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support event delivery.
