Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Health & Safety Manager to support our Auckland operations. This is not a desk-only compliance role. We're looking for someone with real construction site experience who understands the realities of high-risk environments and can build strong working relationships with operational teams across crane, transport, and construction activities. What You'll Be Doing: Conducting site inspections, audits, and ongoing field engagement across operational worksites Leading incident investigations, corrective actions, and risk mitigation activities Developing, reviewing, and implementing SWMS, SOPs, inductions, and other safety documentation Coaching and supporting operational teams, supervisors, and frontline leadership Monitoring contractor compliance and maintaining health and safety standards across projects Providing practical health and safety guidance within live, high-risk work environments Supporting the continuous improvement of company health and safety systems, processes, and culture What We're Looking for: Previous experience in a hands-on H&S role within high-risk operations Hands on site experience within the construction, crane or transport industries Strong understanding of NZ health & safety legislation and site risk management Confident communicator who can work effectively with crews and operational teams Ability to work independently and provide clear direction onsite Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and deliver critical health and safety requirements within deadlines. Highly competent in health and safety practices, including HSWA, ISO45001, audits, risk management, and incident investigation processes such as ICAM and 5 Whys.
