BoostNest Chartered Accountants Ltd – Wellington Central, North Island Build Your Accounting Career at BoostNest Not all accounting firms are the same. At BoostNest Chartered Accountants, we work alongside ambitious business owners to help them build stronger businesses, make better decisions, and achieve long-term success. We believe accounting is about solving problems, building relationships, and creating value—not simply preparing tax returns. We're a modern Chartered Accounting practice that embraces technology, automation, and continuous improvement. As our firm continues to grow, we're looking for a Junior Accountant & Finance Administrator who wants to grow with us. This is more than a junior accounting role. You'll work closely with one of our Senior Accountants and gain exposure to accounting, finance, payroll, business advisory, and the commercial operations of real New Zealand businesses. If you're motivated to learn, we'll provide the training, mentoring, and support to help you build a rewarding long-term career. About the Role This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in supporting both our team and our clients across a broad range of accounting and finance functions while learning from experienced Chartered Accountants. Finance Administration Processing supplier invoices and accounts payable Accounts receivable administration Preparing bank payments for client approval Bank reconciliations Assisting with payroll processing Accounting Support Preparing workpapers Assisting with GST and compliance work Supporting the preparation of financial statements Maintaining client records Working with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems Business Advisory Exposure As your experience develops, you'll gain exposure to: Budgeting and cashflow management Management reporting Commercial finance Leases and financing arrangements Business operations across a wide range of industries This role offers genuine career development and the opportunity to learn how successful New Zealand businesses operate. About You We're not necessarily looking for the person with the most experience. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. You might be: A recent Accounting, Commerce or Finance graduate with some practical work experience; or Someone with experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bookkeeping, Payroll or Finance Administration looking to build an accounting career. Ideally you’ll have: A relevant tertiary qualification and/or practical accounting or finance experience Previous office experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional attention to detail Strong organisational and time management skills The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines A proactive approach to problem‑solving Strong Microsoft Office skills A genuine interest in accounting, business and technology Experience with Xero or New Zealand payroll and accounting systems would be advantageous but isn't essential. While this isn't intended to be a first-job role, we’re open to exceptional candidates who demonstrate maturity, initiative, professionalism, and a genuine desire to learn. You'll Thrive Here If You… Enjoy learning new things. Like solving problems. Take pride in producing accurate work. Notice details that others overlook. Can manage your own workload and meet deadlines. Enjoy working with technology and finding better ways of doing things. Want to be part of a supportive, high‑performing team. Are looking for a career rather than just another job. This role probably isn’t for you if you’re looking for a position where every day is the same or where someone tells you what to do every step of the way. Why Join BoostNest? We're intentionally a small team. That means you’ll never be “just another employee.” You’ll work directly alongside experienced Chartered Accountants, have meaningful client interaction, and gain exposure to work that many larger firms wouldn’t offer until much later in your career. We invest heavily in technology, automation and training because we believe our people should spend their time adding value—not doing repetitive administrative work. We provide: Ongoing mentoring and professional development Xero training and certification Exposure to a broad range of industries and businesses Modern cloud-based systems and technology Career progression opportunities as the business grows A supportive, collaborative team environment Employee benefits following qualifying periods Trust, Integrity & Confidentiality This is a high‑trust position.
