We're looking for an experienced People & Safety Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and help lead our people strategy, safety culture, and workforce development as we continue to grow across New Zealand and the Pacific. About MAP MAP is a Bay of Plenty-based civil construction company delivering complex infrastructure projects across New Zealand and the South Pacific. Our work includes dams, hydro generation, marine structures, reservoirs, and water and wastewater infrastructure. The Role Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead and integrate: Human Resources Training & Development Employee Relations Performance & Culture Leadership Development Workforce Capability & Succession Planning This is a highly visible role requiring regular engagement with our project teams, leaders, and field staff across multiple locations. You may also have ambitions beyond your current role. What We're Looking For You may come from a background in: HR or People & Culture Health & Safety Construction or Operational Leadership An integrated People & Safety role You'll bring: Strong knowledge of employment and health & safety legislation Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or similar industries Excellent relationship-building and communication skills A practical, hands-on approach Ideally a tertiary qualification in Health & Safety (or equivalent practical experience) 5+ years' experience in a senior Health & Safety leadership role within a high-risk environment A passion for developing people and building positive workplace cultures What Success Looks Like Further strengthen our safety culture Develop succession and talent plans across the business Lift capability across our New Zealand and Pacific workforce Support leadership development at all levels Embed a critical risk programme understood from the Boardroom to the worksite Why Join MAP?
