Job Description
We’re looking for anexperienced, people-focused leader to join us as Night Shift ProductionManager, at our Marlborough site, overseeing one of New Zealand’s significant wine bottlingoperations and leading our night shift team to deliver outstanding resultsacross safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence. With responsibility forapproximately six direct reports and a significant production workforce, you’llplay a key role in championing continuous improvement initiatives anddelivering operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We offer a competitive startingsalary of $120,000 - $130,000 . Working 40 hours per week, you willenjoy the flexibility of a Monday to Thursday work week and the autonomy to manage your schedule. While primarily supporting our Night Shift operation(5:00pm to 5:00am), you’ll also maintain a regular presence on Day Shift tosupport team engagement and operational alignment. What You’ll Be Responsible For Leading, coaching, and developing Team Leadersand production employees across the night shift. Driving a high-performing, accountable teamfocused on safety, quality, and productivity. Delivering production targets and monitoring keyoperational KPIs to achieve strong performance outcomes. Leading continuous improvement initiatives toenhance efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence. Managing workflow, labour utilisation, andoverall shift performance. Supporting operational change and developingleadership capability across the production team. About You You’re an experienced people managerwith a proven ability to lead leaders, build team capability, and deliveroperational results through others. You’ll bring: 3+ years' management experience in amanufacturing, production, food & beverage, or similar operational environment. Previous experience leading teams in anight-shift operation would be an advantage. Solid understanding of operational performance,production KPIs, and workforce planning. Experience developing both leaders andhigh-performing teams. A leadership style that balances highperformance expectations with genuine support and development. Strong communication and influencing skills,with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the business, gainbuy-in, and successfully implement change. Confident decision-maker who can assess risks,solve problems, and make sound judgments. A proactive continuous improvement mindset and apassion for operational excellence. Strong financial acumen, with experience managing labour costs, monitoring budgets, and making commercially minded operational decisions.
