Systems Engineer

The Rebel Fleet is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in Mount Albert, Auckland. This is a full-time role (40 hours a week) where you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining workflows and systems that support our client's productions. The Systems Engineer role combines technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of systems and workflows and to provide timely support to end users. They are instrumental in maintaining the productivity and continuity of technology-dependent operations within The Rebel Fleet. We’re less focused on formal qualifications and more interested in how you think, and what you’ve built and achieved.Whether you’ve studied Computer Science, worked in IT, completed online courses, learnt on the tools, or are self-taught — we’d love to hear from you! What you'll be doing Designing and building onset and offset systems to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Maintaining and supporting our multi-facility networking infrastructure. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues using our support systems. Documenting system designs, configurations and maintenance procedures Collaborating with the engineering team to drive continuous improvement. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to freelancers, operators, and clients. What we're looking for 3+ years of experience in an engineering/technology role Experience in an engineering environment, and technical support experience. Experience working with enterprise storage (SAN) technology in a multi-facility architecture. Experience working with enterprise networking technology in a multi-facility architecture. Experience working with multiple subnets, VLAN, WAN/LAN traffic routing and Fortinet firewall experience advantageous. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Python and MySQL knowledge are advantageous.
