Junior Assistant to Director and Practice Manager A new opportunity has arisen to join our growing financial services business as an Assistant to Director & Practice Manager . This is a varied role that will see you working closely with our Director and Practice Manager, providing administrative, organisational and operational support across the business. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and detail-focused, and who enjoys being a person who keeps things moving. You will play an important role in supporting the Director with his diary, client follow-ups, team tasks and day‑to‑day requirements, while also assisting the Practice Manager and wider team as required. You will need to be someone who can take ownership, manage competing priorities and use your judgement to know what can be dealt with independently and what needs to be escalated. This is currently a fixed-term position until early 2028 , providing maternity cover. Subject to business requirements and performance, there is a likelihood that the successful candidate may be redeployed into another suitable role within the business following the fixed-term period. About you We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and proactive, with the ability to work independently while supporting a busy team. You will need to be someone who can see what needs doing, take ownership and follow things through to completion. You will ideally bring: Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Administration, Office Coordination or similar role . Experience managing diaries, appointments, tasks and follow-ups. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and external parties. The ability to work independently, use initiative and identify when matters require escalation. Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn and confidently use new systems and software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling client and business information. A professional, calm and approachable manner. A willingness to assist across different areas of the business and take on additional responsibilities as required. A practical, solutions‑focused approach and a genuine willingness to get stuck in. Experience within financial services would be advantageous, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in finding the right person with the right mindset, organisational skills and transferable experience. About DUX Financial Services DUX is a growing financial services business providing a wide range of tailored financial products and advice, including Mortgage, KiwiSaver, Investment, Fire & General Insurance, Personal Insurance, Financial Planning, Budgeting and Debt Management. We are a small team who genuinely support one another, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. We don't believe a great workplace is simply about finding someone who will "fit" our existing culture. We want people who will add to it. Where and how you'll work We are looking for someone based in the Wellington region, and once you are settled into the role, there may be an opportunity for some hybrid work from home. This is suitable as a full‑time position, however we are open to some flexibility if your ideal work week is less than 40 hours. Interested? If you're looking for a varied role where you can make a genuine contribution, work alongside a great team and gain broad exposure to a growing financial services business, we'd love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
