What you'll be doing Operating and maintaining a variety of woodworking tools and machinery, including saws, sanders, routers and joinery equipment Preparing and selecting appropriate timber materials, ensuring quality standards are met throughout the construction process Constructing cabinets, doors, drawers and other components with precision and attention to detail Assembling and fitting cabinetry hinges and hardware are correctly installed and functioning smoothly Conducting quality control checks to ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations Collaborating with senior cabinet makers and the design team to deliver projects on schedule and to specification Continuously developing your skills through training and practical experience in various cabinet-making techniques What we're looking for A keen interest in carpentry and cabinet making, with a genuine passion for craftsmanship and working with in this industry Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work to precise measurements and specifications A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the trades industry Good manual dexterity and physical capability to perform hands-on workshop tasks Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic, demonstrating dedication to completing projects to a high standard Ability to follow instructions and take direction from experienced craftspeople Basic numeracy and literacy skills to understand plans, measurements and written specifications A focus on health and safety, with willingness to adhere to workshop safety protocols Team player mentality, with good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively Formal carpentry or cabinet-making qualifications or relevant apprenticeship experience would be advantageous Familiarity with woodworking tools and machinery would be beneficial but training will be provided What we offer At Mastercraft Kitchens Whitianga, we value our team members and are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.
