About the Role Come and be part of the team at Te Papaioea Birthing Centre – a beautiful, welcoming primary birthing unit in the heart of Palmerston North. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be an important part of the team. You'll help create the environment enabling women and whānau to feel safe, supported and cared for at one of the most significant times in their lives. We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to assist the Midwifery team whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You can expect a variety of tasks which include: Keeping the environment tidy and organised Housekeeping and other tasks that support the safe and effective functioning of the unit Ordering and restocking of supplies Providing client assistance, under the direction of the midwife Ensuring that whānau have the best experience possible About the Team/Service Te Papaioea is a midwifery‑led primary birthing unit, providing a calm and supportive environment for wāhine and whānau during birth and those precious first days with their pēpi. The centre operates 24/7 and works closely alongside Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs). Employing over 2500 people, MidCentral offers a supportive work environment that accepts and values all employees.
