Laundry Assistant

Warkworth Laundry – Warkworth, North Island Great summer job with 30+ hours per week and consistent Monday–Friday work. No laundry experience required, work alongside an experienced, supportive team. Ideal for a student looking for reliable work from September through to March/April. Job purpose We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join our team for our busy season, from September through to the end of March/April. You’ll work alongside our experienced permanent Laundry Assistants, helping with the day-to-day running of the laundry and making sure everything is processed efficiently and to a high standard. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work, likes being part of a team, and is looking for consistent hours over the summer period. Key responsibilities Front‑of‑house customer service and assisting customers Using our in‑house system to process and manage laundry Folding and ironing laundry Loading, unloading and operating laundry machines Completing laundry deliveries as required Helping with general laundry duties and keeping the workspace clean and organised Working alongside our experienced Laundry Assistants Skill requirements Full driver licence required Available to work Monday–Friday, 30+ hours per week Ideally available from September through to the end of March/April Must be available throughout December and January, excluding the statutory holidays when we are closed Reliable, punctual and hardworking Comfortable with physical, hands‑on work and being on your feet Able to work well as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to learn Previous laundry experience is not required – training will be provided Please note: While the advertised contract runs from early September through to April, the exact start and end dates can be flexible for the right person. The number of hours a week can vary depending on work load, however over this busy season it is likely to be 30+ hours across Monday‑Friday This is initially a fixed‑term contract position to support us through our busy season.
