About the role We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join The Green Pinnacle on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our bar and beverage service, ensuring that every guest receives outstanding service whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and quality. The Duty Manager acts as the operational leader on shift, overseeing staff performance, managing customer relationships, and driving the success of our hospitality operations. This is a hands‑on position based in Grey Lynn, Auckland, where you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the guest experience and team morale. Key responsibilities Supervising and managing bar and beverage staff during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety throughout the bar and serving areas Monitoring stock levels of beverages, spirits, and bar supplies, coordinating with management on ordering and inventory management Handling cash and point-of-sale systems with accuracy, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled Responding promptly to customer queries, complaints, and special requests, resolving issues with professionalism and discretion Training and coaching bar staff on service techniques, product knowledge, and customer care best practices Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and responsible alcohol service protocols Maintaining detailed shift reports and communicating key information to management regarding operations, staffing, and guest feedback Supporting the wider hospitality team and contributing to a positive, collaborative workplace environment Opening and closing procedures, including security checks and equipment shutdowns What we're looking for A keen golfer, or looking to learn more about golf Knowledge of beverages, including spirits, wines, beers, and cocktails Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members in a fast-paced service environment Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling procedures Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, responsible alcohol service, and licensing requirements in New Zealand Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal A professional appearance and the ability to represent The Green Pinnacle with integrity What we offer Competitive remuneration aligned with industry standards Staff discounts on food and beverages Professional development and training opportunities to support your career advancement A positive team environment that values collaboration and respect The flexibility to discuss working arrangements that suit your circumstances #J-18808-Ljbffr
