Guitar Teacher / Band Tutor

Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.3, Start Date: 12/10/2026, End Date: 27/01/2027 (Itinerant Music Teacher) Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher The arts Rotorua Boys’ High School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic guitar teacher / band tutor to join our music department, commencing as soon as possible. This is a part-time position of approximately 1.5 days per week. The successful applicant will primarily provide tuition in guitar and bass, alongside coaching and mentoring student bands. A key focus of the role will be supporting students to develop their ensemble and solo performance skills, including preparing bands for Smokefreerockquest, Tangata Beats, and other performance opportunities. We are seeking an experienced musician who can build positive relationships with rangatahi and contribute enthusiastically to the co-curricular life of the school. Previous teaching or band-tutoring experience would be an advantage.
