Action Manufacturing LP - Hamilton, North Island We have an exciting opportunity for a versatile Industrial Designer to join the expanding creative team at Action. Action designs and manufactures clever bespoke transport solutions using a human-centred design approach. We are New Zealand's largest vehicle specialiser and build for emergency, mobility, security and tourism. We're a fast growing, ambitious, company who are dedicated to delivering ground-breaking automotive products that make a real difference for our users. We are on the hunt for someone who is truly passionate about human-centred product design. We value people who are free-thinking, self-driven and hands-on. You'll be exploring various facets of our project workflow, from concept sketching, to 3D modelling. Our myriad of manufacturing tools, including Laser cutting, CNC machining, 3D Printing and hand tools are at your fingertips to prototype your design along the way. You'll work directly with the customer to ensure their requirements are resolved to a high degree, and with the rest of the design team to accurately convey the proposed solution. You'll work within our creative team, made up of Industrial design, Graphic design, sustainability design and engineering, as well as business minds - collaborating on a wide variety of projects. You'll take your ideas from early concepts and prototypes all the way through until you see your ideas come to life in our modern production facilities. Skills A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design. Proficient in a range of software - We use Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot and Adobe suite. Advanced understanding of user-centred design and able to conduct user research. Great visual communication through sketching, rendering and digital presentations. Can clearly communicate ideas to all stakeholders. Asks questions and challenges assumptions. Added bonus A practical background with an understanding of design for manufacturing.
