We are seeking expressions of interest for passionate software engineers to join our Technology&Data team. Whether you are just starting out (Level1), building solid experience (Level2), or ready to lead larger initiatives (Level3). You will help design, build, and integrate the specialised applications that keep the GCSB and NZSIS operating efficiently, while working hand-in-hand with a diverse set of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders to convert ideas into detailed design specifications. Evaluate, procure, and integrate commercial or partner tools that meet functional and security requirements. Develop new features or whole components when commercial solutions are unsuitable, including test planning and user-acceptance activities. Monitor emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that improve capability or efficiency. Produce clear support guides and maintain up-to-date documentation for certification, accreditation, and operational hand-over. Diagnose and resolve defects, optimise performance, and apply patches to existing codebases. Serve as a technical advisor to other teams, explaining system architecture and best-practice usage to maximise overall system value. Whether you are just starting your career or already leading complex projects, you will bring along a solid foundation of technical skills and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement. You will bring along your experience with: Containers and Kubernetes fundamentals Database fundamentals in one or more of ElasticSearch, Redis, MariaDB, and Postgres Be comfortable working across the full SDLC and using CI/CD Experience with RedHat OpenShift Experience building complex workflow or rules engine-based solutions Good understanding of applied DevSecOps If you're eager to contribute to national security, advance your expertise, and join a team that values innovation, excellence, and service, we'd love to hear from you!
