Auckland | Day Shift | Permanent Opportunity We are working with a well-established Auckland-based steel fabrication and manufacturing business that is looking to add an experienced Workshop Supervisor to its leadership team. This is a long-term opportunity for someone with a strong background in steel fabrication and welding who enjoys leading from the front. The business has an experienced supervisory team in place and is now looking to bring in its next generation of leadership as part of its longer-term succession planning. The Role Working on the day shift, you will oversee a workshop team of approximately 15-20 staff , helping coordinate daily production while maintaining high standards across safety, quality and productivity. This is a hands-on leadership position. You will work closely with other supervisors and teams across the operation and will be expected to step in and support different areas of the business when required. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a team of approximately 15-20 workshop staff Coordinate daily workflow and production requirements Ensure safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained Provide technical guidance and support to fabrication and welding teams Work alongside other supervisors to resolve production challenges Support different areas and teams across the wider operation when required Coach and develop team members while maintaining a positive workshop culture Lead by example with a practical, hands-on approach What We're Looking For 5-10+ years' experience within steel fabrication and welding Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication Previous supervisory, team leadership or senior workshop experience Good understanding of workshop production environments Strong communication and people leadership skills A practical and solutions-focused approach The ability to adapt and support the wider operation rather than working within rigid role boundaries A genuine interest in a long-term leadership opportunity The Culture This is a collaborative workshop environment where supervisors work together and support the wider business.
