Want to stay fit and active while you work? Look no further! Smart EnvironmentalLtd is seeking a reliable and motivated operator to join our team based at the Refuse Transfer Station in Taihape. Smart Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities providing rubbish and recycling collections. Acquired by Blue Planet and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill. About the Role: This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our Transfer Station. You will be serving and helping customers with any questions andmaintaining a safe worksite. Working an 8 hour shift on Sundays, this permanent position offers the chance to make a real difference in your local community while being supported by a friendly and collaborative team. With the rest of the week free, you'll enjoy the flexibility to balance other commitments, interests, study, family time, or additional work around a consistent schedule. Key responsibilities: Operate and monitor the RTS (Refuse Transfer Station) safely and efficiently. Ensure the site is clean, tidy, and maintained to health and safety standards. Weigh, record, and process waste and recycling materials accurately. Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions and directing where to go Complete basic administrative tasks such as record keeping About you: Holds a current NZ Class 1 driver’s licence Wheels Endorsement will be advantage but not essential Confident using technology and systems Quick thinker with strong problem-solving skills Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards What we offer We pride ourselves on our team environment and company culture.
