Our client is a growing New Zealand software company looking for an experienced Platform / DevOps Engineer with strong Windows Server expertise to design and implement a new configuration and deployment solution for its colocated hosting environment. This is a hands‑on technical role, working closely with a small development team to improve how customer updates, files and assets are deployed across its Windows Server environment. What you'll be doing: Design and implement a configuration management and deployment solution for Windows Server. Automate the deployment of customer application updates, files and related assets. Work across a colocated, predominantly on-premises hosting environment. Review the current deployment process and identify opportunities to improve reliability, consistency and security. Build automation to reduce manual deployment activity and operational risk. Develop scripting and tooling to support repeatable deployments. Work closely with developers to understand application and infrastructure requirements. Document the solution and provide clear guidance for ongoing use and support. What you'll bring We're open to backgrounds including Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer or Windows Engineer, provided you have strong hands‑on Windows Server and automation experience. You'll ideally have: Strong experience administering and automating Windows Server environments. Experience with configuration management and deployment automation. Strong scripting skills, particularly PowerShell. Experience building repeatable, automated deployment processes. Good understanding of Windows infrastructure, networking and security. Experience with CI/CD and deployment tooling. Experience working with on‑premises or colocated infrastructure. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills and confidence working closely with software developers. Why this role?
