Job Description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Workflow Automation Developer (ServiceNow) placeMe IT Recruitment – Wellington Central, North Island Dynamic Purpose & Real Impact We are partnering with a leading public sector organisation that plays a vital role in supporting and growing New Zealand businesses on the global stage. To support this mission, their internal technology ecosystem needs to run seamlessly. Joining a close-knit, 6-person Internal Systems team within a broader digital group, you’ll help transform how people work by configuring, supporting, and continuously improving key workflow and automation platforms. If you are an up-and-coming developer or tech-savvy systems admin with 2 to 3 years of experience and a passion for problem-solving, this is your opportunity to step into a supportive environment that genuinely invests in your growth. The Role & Opportunities This is a versatile, hands‑on role where no two days are quite the same. You will split your energy dynamically across two core areas: ServiceNow Development (~70%): You will dive under the hood of a ServiceNow instance (primarily ITSM and HRSD) to build workflows, manage custom tables, configure forms, and drive system enhancements. You don't need to be a finished product or hold every certification—your employer will fully fund your ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) exams within your first 12 months, backed by direct mentorship from an experienced ServiceNow Platform Lead. Grants Platform & Vendor Coordination (~30%): You’ll act as the key technical bridge between internal business teams and an external software vendor. You won't need to write code in the Grants system itself; instead, you’ll gather requirements, troubleshoot issue tickets, perform testing, and ensure vendor deliverables hit the mark. Leave: 5 weeks annual leave. Work-Life Balance: Flexible hybrid working model (3 days office / 2 days remote with no rigid anchor days). Location: Auckland or Wellington. What You’ll Bring We are looking for a candidate with the right attitude to learn and adapt . You might not hold all the badges yet, but you bring a genuine curiosity to master workflow platforms and a desire to help colleagues solve technical puzzles. What we are looking for: 2 to 3 years of hands‑on platform experience: Practical experience configuring backend workflows, forms, or tables in ServiceNow (pure helpdesk or ticket‑logging experience alone won't be sufficient). Eagerness to gain certifications: A drive to level up your credentials through funded courses and exams. Versatility & a "wear-many-hats" mindset: Willingness to step beyond rigid job descriptions to help triage cross‑platform issue tickets alongside team members. Strong communication skills: Confidence sitting down with non‑technical business users, untangling process pain points, and turning them into smart tech solutions. NZ Work Rights: Full, valid working rights in New Zealand are required (visa sponsorship is unavailable). About placeMe IT placeMe IT is all about connecting the right candidate with the right job in IT. We promote diversity in the workplace and have a human‑first approach, striving for meaningful connections. If you feel like you don't cover every base for this role, that's fine and natural; we encourage you to apply anyway. It's rare that somebody ticks every box! #J-18808-Ljbffr
