North Shore, Auckland Are you passionate about creating beautiful light? We're looking for a talented Photography Lighting Assistant to work alongside an award-winning portrait photographer, creating expressive portraits of people and animals in natural outdoor locations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of light, whether your background is as a lighting assistant, gaffer, photographer, or in film and television. If you enjoy shaping light, solving creative challenges, and contributing to exceptional imagery, we'd love to hear from you. Your Role You’ll play an important part in every shoot by helping create a smooth, enjoyable experience for both clients and animals while ensuring every lighting setup is at its best. Responsibilities include: Setting up and managing lighting for outdoor portrait sessions Reading available light and blending it with strobe lighting Working with people, children, and animals in a calm, friendly manner Packing, transporting, cleaning, and maintaining camera and lighting equipment Assisting with Lightroom and Adobe workflow File management, image organisation and secure data backup General studio organisation and office support Helping care for our friendly studio dog Availability weekdays and weekend portrait sessions Has practical lighting experience (photography, film, television or commercial production) Understands both natural and artificial lighting Is organised, reliable and detail-focused Takes initiative and enjoys working as part of a creative team Is confident handling professional camera and lighting equipment Has experience with Adobe Lightroom and basic Adobe applications Understands digital file management and secure data backup procedures Is physically capable of transporting and setting up lighting equipment, including C-stands Has a full New Zealand driver's licence and is comfortable driving to locations Is warm, professional and enjoys working with both people and animals Is comfortable looking after a friendly studio dog in the workplace Bonus Experience Gaffer or film lighting experience Adobe Photoshop or additional post-production skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
